(Monroe, LA) The Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum is the recipient of a $100,000 Living Well Foundation grant that will go towards the Let’s Get Moving campaign. The Living Well Foundation join other businesses in the community like Graphic Packaging, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, The Kitty Degree Foundation, Mid South Extrusion, Johnny’s Pizza House, Origin Bank and others who have all contributed towards construction and educational programming in the new space.
The Living Well Foundation and The Children’s Museum along with their board members will celebrate on October 22 during their Annual Update Community luncheon and celebration. “The Living Well Foundation and The NELA Children’s Museum have a shared goal of enhancing the quality of life and health of families in northeast Louisiana as well as seeking to improve the medical, dental, and behavioral health of our citizens, especially kids.” said The Children’s Museum Director Melissa Saye.
Living Well’s President and CEO, Alice Prophit, added, “We have long enjoyed a relationship with the NELA Children’s Museum that brings enlightening and impactful education to children across our region. They present many opportunities for kids to have access to museum interactive exhibits and experiences. We look forward to their new location and the expanded programs they will provide, and we encourage others to seek a way to be a part of this museum, one of a kind across the region for sure!”
“Fundraising for the new museum is a key focus in the coming months.” Development Director Dawn Landry said, “The Living Well Foundation has contributed to health and wellness in our area for almost 20 years.
